rsync snapshot backups

One of the most impressive hacks I’ve ever seen: Easy Automated Snapshot-Style Backups with Linux and Rsync. I first saw this in O’Reilly’s Linux Server Hacks, but apparently it’s older than that. This is a shining example of the brilliant, advanced effects that can be achieved by the combination of a solid basic system design and “do one thing really well” tools – in other words, a testament to the validity and genious of The Unix Way.
