Okay – just who is responsible for this now?

So as if “blog” and “blogosphere” weren’t bad enough, someone coined a portmanteau from “blog” and “spam” that came out as…

… wait for it…

“Splog.”

Sure, we’re dealing with spam here. Maybe a really detestable and appaling neologism is appropriate. But then I read things like the following (by Mark Cuban), and I’m not so confident any more:

The blogosphere was hit by a blogspot.com splogbomb.

Say it with me now:

Blogspot splogbomb.

Ooh, again:

Blogspot splogbomb.

What a wonderful sound.
